Justification for Changing Others' Beliefs and pointing out
sin!
Having written articles that point out the sins of society, I have
received many email messages from readers who believe that I should not
try to change others' beliefs, and that it is not my place to point out
sins. They say that I am judging others, and support this with saying
"he who has not sinned cast the first stone." I have even had people
write me non-biblical statements like, "God doesn't Judge, and you
shouldn't either."
However, I am not judging anyone. I am simply informing people of God's
Word like the bible commands me to do:
2 Timothy 4:1-5 (Contemporary English Version)
"When Christ Jesus comes as king, he will be the judge of everyone,
whether they are living or dead. So with God and Christ as
witnesses, I command you to preach God's message.
Do it willingly, even if it isn't the popular
thing to do. You must correct people and point out their
sins. But also
cheer them up, and when you instruct them, always be patient. The time
is coming when people won't listen to good teaching. Instead, they will
look for teachers who will please them by telling them only what they are
itching to hear. They will turn from the truth and eagerly listen to
senseless stories. But you must stay calm and be willing to suffer. You
must work hard to tell the good news and to do your job well."
This is a very important bible verse. It lets us know that Jesus is the
judge of everyone. Also, Paul commands Timothy with God and Christ as his
witness to
not only correct those who believe incorrectly, but to point out sins.
That is
the Hard Core
Truth.
